Hiya Harry,

Interesting.

But I have a problem with that bar. And right up front, know that I'm not knocking it in any way. I just don't understand why it would be necessary. Can you fill me in? Why would I want that support bar?

I just thought of one reason..............it would make engine removal and reinstallation easier. But what other reasons are there for this support?
 
-Easier engine removal.
-More rigid engine/tranny combi (for the high powered among us)
-Tranny protection

Those are a few advantages i can think of.
 
I have heard of this idea, was considering going this way as you can forget about the rear engine support bar. Good for performance engines as you can fit full flow systems and exhausts easier. Nice one Harry
