Thanks for answering, I haven't got the bus running yet, I thought it may be for the coil, hoping to start engine this week (not run in 9 years) and trying to re-connect as many wires as I can before turning the key
Looked on the computer screen now, does look like the reversing light feed, and wire is same colour, if it is it plugs onto a coil terminal then goes to a switch on the gearbox then from that back to reversing lights.
Thanks for the advice, I have another black wire which the coil area (when I got the van there wasn't a coil so wiring is everywhere) can I assume this goes to the gear box?
Just a side note, if your engine hasn't run for 9 years, that defo looks like a braided fuel hose with a rubber sleeve where it comes through the bulkhead. I would definatly change them out and fit new fuel hose.
Thanks for the pointer, gonna rip out the fuel hoses and refurb tank before I run the van, will probably use a small bottle of fuel just to see if the engine works
Not sure about the second wire but should be easy to check, have a look at the reverse light switch on gearbox see if it goes there. Reverse light on mine was a simple circuit, Coil terminal to reverse light switch then a wire back to reversing lights. then to earth. Hope this helps.
