Engine lids...

Crossover bus engine lids...Does anyone know when the "eyelid" that goes over the numberplate and contains the numberplate light changed on crossover buses? Some have a pressing that goes from one side of the engine lid to the other, others have a much narrower pressing. Is this an early/late crossover model thing?

Here’s my white1970 and my raised bit goes roughly to the hinges. My friends 72/73 has the full width raised section. Not sure exactly when it changed.
