We fitted one to my brothers split, you can buy a pump assembly that comes with a cover plate with two hose connections which you can attach to cooler feed and return pipe too.
We initially tried the type which has the oil feed exit from the pump cover plate and the oil return pipe enter where the oil pressure relief valve lives. This was nothing but trouble and cost us an engine .
The second one proved to be much simpler and does the job fine,
There is one take off on the pump cover, and the other is to the left of the pulley wheel when facing the engine.
You can see it there. Since the picture, I rerouted the pipework through the tinware and tidied up the engine bay a fair bit.
Just be careful the oil pipework doesn't lie on the exhaust, as I found out to my cost last weekend. Ended up with a lot of oil all over the car and the road, but not a lot lubricating anything. Doh
