So, I've got loads of films I love: Shawshank Redemption, Lock Stock, Goodfellas, Layer Cake, Casino, Horrible Bosses, but my all-time favourite has to be Point Break, and has been since the first time I saw it all those years ago. It's got surfing, drama, chases, morality, ticks all boxes. So what's yours and why?

Point Break's up there in my top ten too. It's got so many Veedub Owner qualities with its lifestyle. Keanu/Swayze/Gary Busey version only!!! Seen it a dozen times. Bicycle Thieves is my second favourite film of all time. Transport involved though. Number one? Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter.......and Spring. Deeply moving and thought provoking. Transport? A rowing boat and a life's journey.

Really difficult to say as I like a lot but I'd say Gladiator or Kelly's Heroes, the latter just because of Donald Sutherland's character.

Good shout on Gladiator, awesome film. Don't think I've seen the Blues Brothers but have stuck it on my to-watch list. Embarrassingly I had Toy Story on DVD way before I had kids....

Pans Labyrinth.
One few over the cuckoo's nest.
American History X.
Lost Boys.
Boys 'N' the Hood.
Aliens (2)
Snatch.
Smokey and the Bandit. + Hooper
Frozen.

I could go on, but cant put my finger on one as like them all for different reasons.

Smokey and the Bandit is not the greatest film but a personal fave as was hooked on But Reynolds as a kid! All boys wanted to be a stunt man!!? 8)
Pans Labyrinth is a personal fave .... Very Dark!(Love most fantasy films).
American History X, is for me a film that everyone should watch. (Hard hitting) imo.
Lost Boys..... love vampire films (Dusk till Dawn is brill too)
Boys N the hood, was the first film as a kid in to rap music that opened my eyes to what the music was about.
Aliens..... Loved the action and the Pulse rifle!!
Snatch, just a very well put together film as is (Lock stock, Usual suspects....)
One flew over the cuckoos nest, I love Jack Nicholson (Genius IMO), and most of the films he has been in. (The shinning is quality is you can handle horror?)
Frozen...... Because its the first film me and my girls watched together as a family....... and sung too!

Great topic...
I just love good films of all sorts! :D

Difficult to pick one but in my faves (for differing reasons) are the following:-

It's a wonderful life
There's something about Mary
Goodfellas
The graduate
Sophie Scholl
Zulu
The family way
The green mile
12 monkeys
The devil's advocate
Play it again Sam
American graffiti

I'll have to stop there! Got a bit carried away :anim_39:

OK. I mention two and then there's a whole load of top tens. So, I'm getting in on this.....as said, Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter...and Spring: Bicycle Thieves: Edward Scissorhands: Blade Runner: Ninth Gate (for the soundtrack alone): Pointbreak: Slade (in Flame): Lord of the Flies (black and white): Constantine: Lord of the Rings/the Hobbit/Harry Potter movies (yeh that's a dozen or so, but hey!!! Tolkien and JK. rock). Oh and Alien/Resident Evil....all of them. You can't stop once you start can you???

Anything with Clint Eastwood in it ;)
And not to forget saving private Ryan,Apocalypse Now, full metal jacket and Platoon.

comedy = dumb and dumber
sci-fi = starwars followed by aliens
western = unforgiven although i like the new magnificent 7
chick flick = ????
action = DIE hard
Christmas movie =ELF followed by gremlins ( yes its a Christmas movie)
horror = cabin in the woods

...surprised no one lists Star wars - but I would like to propose

Trainspotting - for the first 2 minutes if nothing else
Butch Cassidy - Ultimate buddy movie ?
Cool Hand Luke - "What we've got here is failure to communicate..."
Jaws

Manikin is in my list of guilty pleasures. And I'll describe the film and you tell me the title, because I can't remember Jack today. Two scrawny young fellas are hooked up to their punter and a girlie mag and there's lightning etc then this goddess appears and grants their every wish etc etc etc.

Ozziedog,,,,,,Ends with a bit of P.E. :p

I don't have a favourite film as such, more of a continually changing list where any one of them could be at the top depending on my mood.
So, in no particular order, here are a few of them:
Ronin.
Leon.
Airplane.
Shawshank Redemption.
Pretty much anything by Tim Burton.
Chris Nolan's Batman Trilogy.

I haven't seen any of the Die Hards, Lethal Weapons or Grease....and I intend to keep it that way!
