finish for the baltic birch interior panels

Hey all
working to restore a 1969 Westphalia. Does anyone know the finish used on the interior wood trim panels?
was it just a clear lacquer or varnish, did it have a tint or anything ?
any help would really be appreciated

Just clear as far as I know, mine was original but falling apart when I imported it. I replaced it with new and just lacquered it to protect

68 and 69 were just coated I think, I have a good match of the stain , not to hand though.
Later vans had a lime/white wash coating
