Got my wheels back from being refurb'ed, they look fantastic. Had a new set of standard 185 14 C tyres put on with a whitewall. They really look great, I'm well chuffed (the blue is a protective coating that needs washing off)

Well done! Looks perfect with the white steeles! Congratulation! Will you mount some hubcaps?
See you
Reno
Yes, i thought my original hub caps were ok but only 2 of them can be used, the other two are too rusty.
I thought i took a picture with them on, will have to do this next time.

Got the old girl back from having a headlining fitted at the weekend from Katie @ Totally Trimmed. She also put all the glass in with the new rubbers so there was no risk of me f**** up the new headlining and even fitted a new s/steel front badge that I bought after seeing one on her EB. Katie also fitted all the curtain rail, sun visors, coat hooks and seatbelt bolts back so I didn't have to go fumbling around looking for the old holes.
As my EB started life as a microbus, the headlining extends down to the beltline but due to the Danbury roof it looked a bit of a pig to accurately get the headling cut and glued around this nicely, Katie has done a lovely job, not that easy to see from the pictures but it's nice and taught, I'm well chuffed.
I'm getting closer to having a road legal bus now, need to get my seats sorted out before I can MOT her.
Ignore the scabby rear hatch hinge covers, I'm hoping to refurb mine or replace if required.

and finally the very shiny s/steel badge from dubbalicious:

Happy days!

Nothing too exciting to report this week, bought a very shiny set of s/steel standard hubcaps after deliberating wether to go for baby moons or standard. I'm very happy with these ones, they look great, or will do once I've washed the mud off the tyres.

I spent all of saturday repairing the passenger seat, 3 of the 4 long zig zag springs that make up the base of the seat were snapped and I bought the correct gauge spring from an upholstery firm to repair them. It was a slow job, the springs need to be twisted at some tricky angles to get them to match the original ones. Not very easy to see in the pics but least I've got the satisfaction of having done it myself.
Broken springs:

Reel of spring wire, the spacing of the U shaped pattern is different to the OG but its worked out fine:

First of the springs fitted, onto the rest:

Will be attempting to recover the drivers seat next.

Got the hessian, coconut pads and then some padding onto the drivers seat, have got the TML covers on as well but not fully fitted yet so no picture.

Also got the cover fitted on the opposite side to the slider, not the greatest fit (its a new part) but looks fine in the photo

Thought I'd post up the full pics of the seat frame build up, so, repaired frame:

seats look great.

You say the new cover isn't a great fit, have you fitted the plastic trim or beading that fits in between?

Its not obvious from the pic.

Yes the beading is there. I fitted the other side at the weekend, it was a right pig to fit, again a new metal cover but now its on its looks OK.

Mags

Treated myself to a Vintage speed exhaust, it looks so much better than the stock one and sounds lovely too.
Only complaint is for such a beautifully made exhaust they give you such crappy looking bolts/nut to fit it with, not stainless. But otherwise it is a thing of art with lovely welding.

Made up plastic door membranes

And started to put the trim back in. I didn't realise that my OG trim was actually a bit knackered in places, especially the drivers door. I think I'm going to have to look at replacing some of this.
I also glued the textured rubber that runs around the base of the seat on.

Finished the seat bases and trim panels

I wasn't happy with drilling my bumper for the number plate so looked to try and mount it lower down. I ended up putting 2 nutserts in the front pedal cover pan, made up two spacers and bolted the plat to this, I like it, I wonder if the MOT man will.

As it was such a nice day yesterday I got impatient and decided to take the old girl for an MOT. and she passed :D
20150303_062307_zpsxycrvz0l.jpg

I am a very happy bunny!
First MOT in 6 years and first time she has been on the road in 5 years.
I was hoping to spend the day driving about to get some miles under the belt but I have a few niggles to sort out. I think I have a few bolts to be tightened up on the front end and the gear shift was awful which is really bloody annoying as its all been rebuilt. I think its the rotten quality parts but will see if I can make it better with some adjustment.

thought I'd read this from the beginning and your first post says..

"I'm not looking for show winning, just solid and clean, peace of mind."

Think you might have gone a little beyond solid and clean. This is a cracker!
