Afghan Van
Member
Hi there everyone,
I've literally just joined up and am in need of some guidance. I have a 1970 bay window panel van with a 1641cc Remtec engine (about 4 years old now), engle 110 cam and a 32/36 weber carb in the back (so, a little it of punch but won't frighten your granny too much). I have owned the van for around 9 years now and do all the work myself. I have upgraded my tin-ware/ fan/ oil cooler etc from the single port style stuff to the larger and later style and am now looking at fitting an external oil filter. I did toy with the external oil cooler idea too but I have a dipstick VDO temp gauge and she runs fine as is.
I have trawled through forums and looked on the usual websites to find parts and info and I have reached the point of a headache and more confusion.
Can anyone point me in the right direction and tell me, this is what you want, I've done it to mine and it works blaady perfect.
I'm aware that there are clearance issues with the engine mount and, if need be, I can cut it and re shape it. I'm swayed towards not doing that but then it seems I will have to drill the case. If this is correct, what is the best option?
Any pictures, diagrams or information will be warmly welcomed. Thank you for reading!
