Front number plate

Where is the front number plate officially fixed to on an Eary Bay, bumper or body?

Just wondering as I see lots of both...

Personal taste i think , i dont run one , but for MOTs i have a magnetic one i put on front panel between indicators !!

Just dont drill your front panel to fit a plate , cardinal sin :msn4:

I have mine stuck to the front panel with several of those adhesive pads

On my Golf GTI I glued Neodymium Magnets from ebay to the inside of the plastic bumper so I could remove it at shows - they are very very strong

I mounted it under the front bumper.although I did fit brackets,you can get camps that grip the bumper.don't ask me where though!!!......

Mine came fitted directly onto the bumper from new

It was down to the supplying dealer to fit the number plates so there was no fixed rule back then.
