Was talking to Dave Fisher today at Kingfisher Kustoms, while i was in there buying some parts for the bay, and asked him to price up some front wheel arches and steps as mine are cream crackered.
His answer shocked me a little as he siad only go for Genuine as pattern parts are shocking, they are that bad that Kingfishers no longer stock them!
The problem i have is that the Genuines are for the later type bus and although they will fit you have to modify the step a little to get a good fitment although Kingfishers do sell a step part that you can use for the codge.
Has anyone done this to theres?
Whats the difference between early and late steps / arches?

I believe the later type arches have a slightly flared lip on them. The repro panels are not the best fit, but can be fiddled with to get to an acceptable standard. I have a spare JK front wheelarch panel you can have cheap as chips if you want, but its best to change the complete arch/inner arch if you can because it's easier in the long run. Hope this is of some help,

James.

FBI had some arches cut from a cali bus on here a while back. Not cheap but they`ll fit very nicely and it`s original steel. Lots of people are chosing to do this now because repro panels can be so hit and miss.

Cheers mate, might take you up on this offer, im hoping that i can get away with a cut and shut because the arch itself is quite good its just the step and the other end of the arch thats the problem.
How much you looking for? and where abouts in Telford are you?

i have late arches on an early, didn't spot it until a few weeks ago when a topic similar to this one cropped up

Is there a massive difference?
Spoke to Kingfisher customs about this and he recommends only Genuine arches for the fronts of early bays
