Before I make a hole for the sender I wanted to check the guage. So here are the results, hoping anyone can advise on a solution.
Ignition on - Fuel Guage reading full
Brown wire off at the terminal - Fuel Guage reading empty
I split the wire at the rear arch where it enters the fuel tank area. So I linked the end of the wire from the guage and earthed it. The guage showed just over half full. But this had no link/route back to the tank which was a bit strange.
Guage test with Multimeter
Setting was on 20k
Brown terminal to live terminal reads 0.10
Brown wire connected to terminal and the tester to ground reads (ignition on) reading -1 with ignition off it was reading 0.00.
I think from the tests it is telling me I have to get to the sender.
