This is carrying on from another (very long) thread about my dodgy new carbs.

I think I may have a fuel pump issue. Everything is fine until the engine is fully warm. Then I have a noticeable hesitation on acceleration. When checking the fuel regulator the fuel level is very low and gets worse on tick over. It never fully drains. The fuel pump is the cheap mechanical one. Is it on its way out?

I don't have the time or money to get an electric one sorted. Shall I get a decent mech one or is this normal behaviour?

Cheers

The outlet on the regulator is the pipe on the right.

I use a malpassi and mech pump, the lowest it gets is about a third but no issues, maybe it's the pump rod being worn?

Maybe - just wondering if I should change the pump too. It is weird it is fine until the engine is warm

Changed mech fuel pump for the type you can take apart. All good again.

Sorry Bob, I didn't see this come back up, that's good although the 67 pump I took out was better than the modern crap I put in, men can't be disassembled.
