got a bit bored today after building mine and my sons die cast vw camper models. so thought i'd go for a little bit of lowering

this is what my sons microbus started out as. sorry its not a bay but everyone always buys me splits

after a bit of cutting to the chassis with a stanley it came out as this

then this

mine started out a little more tractor like as it came with empi fives fitted to it

as the wheels were bigger i decided to go for a little wheel arch tubbing for clearence

ended up looking like this

i really miss working on my van. im gonna get round my workshop on sunday if it kills me

haha thats class, but the question is, do they still roll ???

yes mate. thats what the tubbing is for. the wheels do encroach slightly into the drivers seat area but its a small price to pay for style

awesome! thats the way to do it i havent modded a model for years. i think i may have to, just as soon as i get a nice model Bay!

Someone gave my missus a model Beetle for christmas yesterday and ive already asked her if i can drop it and narrow the front beam :mrgreen:

She said"i wonderd how long it would take before i asked" :roll:

She did say yes though.
