Handbrake question

Morning,

my bay has just failed its MOT on a worn handbrake mech
the MOT tester has stated that it failed as they could lift the hand up (not twist) and it would dis-engage the handbrake,

the bus is still there at the moment but im just wondering if there is any adjustment in there or if i need to source a replacement mech

Bad luck steve, I always thought it was just a bar and pivot so didn't even know it did wear.

I had same issue a few year back, could you be missing item 4 on this image dude? or maybe item 6 is worn?

cheers, im hoping thats all it is, tbh its been that way for years and its never caused an issue, im guessing its number 4 thats missing
