I have just emailed Harringtons with a proposed group buy, not sure on price yet but im sure if we get over 10 people the price would be a good one.

I already have my bumpers so not looking to make any money from this, i would just supply them 10 or more buyers and then it would be like any other sale.

Just heard back from harringons, they are up for a group buy and have set the following conditions.....

My name is Christoph Joebstl, I am the Sales & Marketing Director of Group Harrington. I saw your email and thought I would answer myself.



As you will know, the VW early Bay window bus bumpers are currently on special promotional sale – the current website price is only GBP 513 including shipping which is GBP 100 lower than the normal website price. This special sale price is only valid for a limited amount of sets – in fact, once the next 5 sets have been sold, the price will be back at the old level.



However, if you can organize a group buy of a minimum of 10 sets I will extend the sale price for the complete order and would even give the members a further discount of GBP 20/set bringing the total to only GBP 493 including shipping (separate DHL air freight shipping to each customer).



I would suggest that you collect orders from the forum members and send me all information in one Excel-sheet (you can find a template attached to this email). Once we received the order we will send each customer a separate email confirmation. Each customer can choose between different payment options – you can find details at the bottom of this email. I will give the production order for the bumpers once we received payment.



Please note that I can only guarantee above mentioned price until the end of May!



Did you know that we also supply bumpers for the early 1950-57 and later 1958-68 VW Split screen bus and the later (73 and onwards) VW Bay window bus. The later VW Split Screen bus bumpers (EU and US style) and VW Late Bay bus bumpers are currently also on special sale. If you are interested I can also extend the offer to these bumpers. That's £498 rather than £493 - nearly as good a saving as the deal for 10. The eBay price is currently £548 delivered.

I presume all 4 of us have to be in to get this price.

From what I can fathom they are willing to honour the group but at £15 off the sale price. I will email them back. Because there is only 4 of you interested they will only drop £15 off, they would not extend til the end of June.

Hi All

Just a thought, £690 in delivery charges for delivering 10 orders!!! You could buy a delivery van for that!!! I am sure that they could be collected and delivered in a day or two by someone who had a van or...maybe a camper!?!? And it could come out a lot cheaper. Before you all start placing orders with me I would love to but my van is off the road at the moment and I work 6 days a week, but someone must have some free time and want to plod around the country delivering bumpers and maybe earn £300-£400. Just a thought.
