I've bought a pair of seals to go between the bodywork and the headlights as mine keep filling up when it rains. However I can't see where they would fit as they are really small and don't seem to stretch too well either. Any ideas please???

Thanks

Rob

I'm pretty sure they don't go between body and headlamp, but instead go between the removable glass and the headlamp bowl.

Check out the pictures in my build thread, about half way down the page here: http://forum.earlybay.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=54972&start=300" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

These ones are different. Very thin seals.

I bought them as both my headlights fill up with water despite being just a couple of years old. I assumed the main bowl to glass seals were ok.

Does anyone use extra seals to the body or is it just a case of my main headlight seals worn? :?

When I fitted my headlight to body ones i stretched them over the lip around the headlight bowl on the front panel, then screwed the light in. As far as I can tell they would only so water getting behind the assembly, not into the light unit itself.

That's great thank you. I'll give that a go. I was going to do that but worried that it might have snapped.
Thanks again :D

if your headlamps are filling up with water you need new seals between the glass and headlamp metal part behind, not the vehicle body. i had same problem and used black silicone sealant, 5 years later still no water, hasn't rotted like rubber and you can't tell if you do a neat job of it. ;)
