There's a good site at Wasdale...

http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main/w-global/w-localtoyou/w-northwest/w-lakedistrict-feature/w-northwest-lakedistrict_camping/w-northwest-lakedistrict_camping-wasdale.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Then there's Castlerigg near Keswick..

http://www.lakedistrictcamping.co.uk/campsites/northwest/castlerigg_farm.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If you've got time pop into your local Smiths or Waterstones and buy a copy of "Cool Camping, England" - gives recommendations of more out of the way sites. Have a good trip.

I go this one up @ junction 40 of the M6, really good campsite for kids.
When I went 5 weeks ago it was a bit sogy but there are plenty of high grassy bits to pitch on.
