How do I test my coil

Hello got a few running problems and just need to get this thought out my head how do I test my coil?

What ever you do don't stick ya tongue on the end of it!!!! Your need a multimeter. You need to check the resistance of the positive and negative terminals and then the resistance between the ht and negative terminal. I don't have the actual values for the vw coils though but as a rule of thumb. The low voltage side should have low resistance and the high voltage side should be high.
