Wifes treating me for my birthday, long weekend in Germany with a trip to the VW muesum in Wolfsburgh. 8) :D
Lots of drinking to be done(daughters not coming) and some nice festive markets etc that the Germans do so well, but is there any other must see places that anyone can recommend. We are staying in Hannover as its easier for the airport etc and Wolfsburgh is only 1/2 hour away by train.
Wanted to co to the Autostadt for ages so really looking forward to this. Expect lots of VW photos when i get back.

very very jealous....ask them if they want to buy my deluxe while you are there....finding it very hard to con tact them....you lucky man..have a good time 8)

Make sure you visit the stiftung automuseum,in wolfsburg, thats the proper vintage vw one, with prototypes etc in.
The autostadt is more newer stuff, though it does have a few oldies in it. Have fun.

Give your self at least 3 hours for the Autostadt, good restaurant there, as some one already pointed out there is another VW museum near the center, I didnt get time to go there (work demands), I would be interested in what you think when you get back. Seem to remember you could go skating at the autostadt.

Have a good one.

Ian

Unfortunately the VW parts center is well out of the center of Wolfsburg to the south. I tried to find it last time I was there but gave up in the end.

Some great early beetle prototypes at autostadt. Its divided up into 5 different hall one for each of the OEMs in the group, Vw, Audi, Seat, Scoda, Bentley. I thought the VW hall was the best mainly because it had the most classic cars, but each is different and well worth a look round.

Loads of things to buy from the main shop take plenty of spending money.

Bergen-Belsen is definitely worth a visit if you have never been before.

I'll post a link of other places to visit, non VW related as soon as I can find the begger.
