Thanks mate. It’s awful isn’t it!! I’ve done everything else myself but I’m stumped by this. The annoying thing is I know that everything works I just don’t have the Knowlege to put it back together so hopefully the electrician can sort it. Should be simple for him
Fingers crossed 🤞

Crimp wires as solder could melt if there was a high current but solder now to get you going. That bk/we/ gn wire is the supply from the fuse. Should be White 8Amp. A Red fuse is 16A
If there’s enough current travelling through the wire to make solder melt then there is one nasty fault and the loom would probably be on fire or at least smoking as the insulation burns off 🔥

I think this is why I’ve decided to let a professional sort it out. Done all this work wouldn’t want an electrical fire to finish it off!

Oh well the sparky has let me down. Just left me hanging around waiting all day, took time off work etc. I messaged him to ask if he’s still coming. Got a message back saying no I’m busy today. Even though I messaged him on Monday to confirm he’d be over today 😳 so now I’m left to my own devices again and not a clue what to do 😔

Well, I’ve fixed it myself!!! I traced it back to a dodgy stalk. So I’ve disconnected all of that and left the stalk there just for looks.
I’ve wired in new brake lights powered to the master cylinder the back to the lights. Being USA spec it has all red rear lights. So I’ve put in two flasher units one for each side to a 3 pin toggle switch and ran those wires to the reverse lights so now I have amber indicators and I have a retro little chrome light that I’ve put on the bumper to act as a reverse light. None of the original wiring has been cut or moved so I can easily put it back to standard if I feel like it.
Feeling pretty chuffed with myself as I’m rubbish at electrics!

If your relay is making noise but not working, just try tapping on it with the handle of a screwdriver or similar whilst it is energised. It may just be sticking.

I’ve replaced it now but good shout, I’ll remember that in the future 🙂
