Need to renew the van insurance but my current provider has actually put the price which i thought was high anyway up.

van is in decent nick prob worth 9-10k and slightly modified ie lowered (not slammed) and has a ss exhaust.

Currently with HERT and they want nearly £300 for next year on a 1000 miles policy

What are other people paying and who with?

Any advice welcomed cheers

Dave

I'm with Footman James and have an unlimited millage policy.

About £250 with agreed value of £12k

I've been with them for years but have never had to claim so unsure of their customer service in that situation.

My insurance is up at the beggining of Jan and as yet i still haven't received a renewal quote, i'm currently with Sureterm and unless the quote is stupid this year then i'll stay with them.
Last year i paid just under £200 with a guarenteed value and a limited mileage of 1500, although that was when the van was just a project, so this year i'm going to up the mileage to about 10,000 a year (considering a european trip) and also increasing the value.

Ive just changed mine from adrian flux, to sureterm direct and wish i had never bothered. Ive had nothing but a bad experiance with sureterm, there customer service is awful. They sent me a recommend a friend form after two days of taking the policy out but took 3 weeks to get any documentation to me. They seem really friendly on the phone until they get your money then they dont want to know. I will definatley not be using them again next year!

whs i had the exact same probs with sureterm , just a ****** bunch of pikeys in suits.....no disrespect to any pikeys out there in camper land!!!

I have just changed all my vehicles to Adrian flux, and they've saved me a small fortune. They also insure unregistered imported cars off the chassis number before an MOT, which i couldn't believe. Watch out for the £25 setup fee mind. If you're cheeky enough to ask, they'll waver it.

iam with peter best with all my vws all under £100 each, with 1500 miles a year, plus break down cover had to use it this summer and the break down lorry was there in 45 min,so its payed its self

I'm with Footman James, £200 at market value with unlimited miles and free (European??) breakdown cover. First time second car insurer so zero NCD on that. Footman James have been fine everytime I've phoned them, but the breakdown guy they sent out just picked me up and towed me home, no attempt to look for a problem, he even admitted he wasn't a mechanic! Think they tried to sort it out on a computer in the call centre and the response: computer says nooooo.
