sent them 6 pics told them what i have had done i put a value of 14000 going buy the ones that are on sale and had nothing done up to 12000,they valued it at 10000.......this cant be wright :!:

They are always a pain to convince the value of a old van.Go back to them and explane why you think its worth more they will ask for proof of the money spent and may ask for proof that other vans are selling for the prices you state. The only thing they do go on is market value which i belive is auction prices but these are usally low.If not try other insurance companys they may put a higher value on it .Worth a go

What's your bus like(i.e. what's it had done to it)? I just got mine agreed at 13k with HIC. I sent them detailed photos and a massive list of what was done. It took ages to come through but they did agree (eventually).

Who are you insured with? Footman James let you specify an agreed value up to £15000 without an independent evaluation.

i gave them a list of what has been done sprayed, new rubbers, new upholstery, disc up front, new floor..the insurer is adrian flux

Hi Rich,

I am also with Adrian Flux, I too sent them pictures and details of work done, and they priced it £1000 below my valuation. So I think it's on for £7000  They said because of the current market they were pricing it at this value! They are useless tools, it took at least 3 goes for them to get to this stage as they kept misplacing my e mails and pictures.
To be honest, I had so much hassle back and forth with them, I couldn't be arsed any more. I certainly will think twice about using them before - it's a shame, as they are really cheap - but you get what you pay for.

I have been with AON for years and the latest policy is with Footman James as mentioned above.

My old valuation was £5k and I have added a note saying I'd struggle to replace the van for under £9k, asking for this to be the new agreed value. The letter has only just gone in the post but I'll add a note here when I hear from them.
