Yeah, mine has this exclusion.
I could leave it on a random street a couple of miles away and it would be covered but not on my drive. (I understand it’s about being left there regularly which increases the risk).
My policy is with Flux and you can pay a higher premium not to have it.

Yeah, seems weird as the nearer your property you'd think it more secure.

Also noticed that a few other insurance policies I've got have changed under writers this year. Maybe just coincidence or is the market changing?

I'm sure as time goes on the market is shrinking, and becoming more specialist. If vans are being insured they are generally worth a lot and in the hands of specialist owners. I guess mainstream 'pile 'em high and sell 'em cheap' insurance companies wont want to deal with them.
