i know a guy through vwkd who has a 13 window delux split which has at one point had a huge engine fire, it cost him just over a grand and looks like it. he has it running a diesel vw engine and dirves it hard. he camps in it with his dog and uses it properly. i love the looks it gets, as some splitty owners are a bit anal and concourse in their thinking. i'd love a split as i like the look of a 23 window but my kids would break every fiddly window clip and i would spend my life saying dont touch this and that. i hope i can use my bay and not get too caught up in it looking spotless
