Is an M-plate painted in factory same colour ...

...as bodywork or is it always bare metal?
i.e. if M-Plate is painted then is this indication of a respray?

should have said that there is also another plate on the other side which is aluminium and should be silver

Mine is bare aluminium ( 68 ) so I masked it up when I re-sprayed

Mine is same as the body colour with no indication of a respray over plain aluminium.

cant say i have seen a M plate thats not been body colour ,chassis plate should be unpainted,M plate fitted when body built before paint so as they know what spec to build to?
