hi all having probs with these carbs got them set up today balanced mixture idle set ,new dizzy 009 points plugs but drives badly got to dip the clutch and Rev hard to keep going especially on hills tics over sweet though,contacted the guy who set them up ,and reckons I need to change the jets it was a 1600 twin port rebuilt to 1641 als maybe fit electric fuel pump when driving it pops ,spits ,splutters and is an absolute nightmare and got to keep dropping into 3rd oh and they are twin kadrons and brand new any ideas cheers rob.

Definitely sounds like it is running lean, although to be on the safe side I'd check the timing 1st, then look into the carbs/ manifolds for air leaks and then finally try different mains.

Timing was set yesterday as well will try the mixture after a bit of research found that idle jets are the same for 1600 and1641 but main jet is 130 as apposed to 125 on the 1600 will keep at it ,where abouts are you in Scotland

Have you got the balance pipe connected between the two manifolds, and are you certain that the carbs are balanced and the linkage adjusted correctly so that both carbs operate the same?
