Ok today I received the kick panel paper template from Carl in the UK. And before I could get into making a set of my own, I noticed that it might be late bay. Here is the one that I received from Carl;

And here is the one on Andy / rackhams ipswich's kick panels thread.

Can someone please confirm if the paper template I got is an Early Bay or is it a Late Bay? I mean to make a set for my RHD 69er. Thanks

LHD and RHD have the wiper filler cut on different sides. The paper template you have is LHD

:oops: :oops: :oops:
no wonder the difference then. so that means I am right where from I started but a couple quids poorer. And looks like I should be looking for a RHD paper template all over again. :(

I dunno how come that happen because I initially requested a RHD one: http://forum.earlybay.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=56063" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

RHD Early Bay Kick Panels Paper Template anyone? :cry:

Turn the template over ;-) That will be the kick panel for the passenger side. As it is at the moment thats for the drivers side but you dont need the hole for the washer bottle but you will need a cut out for the brake res.

thanks guys. i will flip it over for a passenger side cut and give it a try. However, for obvious visual reasons I am not convinced the driver's side is same as andy's. Plz have another look at the two pics, Carl's is oriented in Driver's side position and Andy's Driver's side in second pic (on the right) and there is a clear visual difference in the upper cuts.

What you need is the above but there is a cut out for the brake res and the cold air lever.

Cut out 2 of the aobve, make one with a washer hole for passenger side. For the drivers side you will need to put the notch on the edge for the fresh air and a cur out for the res.

Heres the incorrect one fitted in mine (I am getting it sorted) obviously mine LHD so you need to swap the it over.

But the above template is fine you just need to turn it over for the other side.

In my pic I have the washer and res on the same side. So ony cut the washer hole in one.

Basically cut out 2 of the above. Cut a hole in only one. Fit them, see where the brake res is and the cold air lever. Cut. Cover, fit. Job done.

i am getting the hang of it. but the washer bottle is located the exact spot on a RHD as on your van (thats passenger for LHD van and Drivers for RHD van)

In fact the kick panels on your van are exactly the way i want...because they are RHD kick panels! will add a pic to elaborate further in a bit

Oh I am in Pakistan.

here found one, thts from the time i was clearing it all up. sorry abt the messy pic but thts how I got the van (in fact lot worst as its after clearing some clutter)!!!

decided to give it a go but chose card board instead as wanted to see how would it work out. And it seems pretty snugly fit under there so I think the template will do good in the end afterall.
