can anyone tell me if there is any reason that a westfalia interior from a late bay (drop down cooker, swivel table etc) couldn't be fitted in an early bay?

cheers.

Theyll all fit each other, as long as they are the correct rhd/lhd type.

My French pal has a full late Westy in his 70, including the roof

thanks very much. i sort of thought as much.

now, what about changing the style of roof? if it had a devon pop top like this:

http://campershop.co.uk/devon-bw68.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

could it be easily changed for something else, eg:

http://campershop.co.uk/westfalia-bw.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

or would there be a bit of roof cutting needed.

now thats a question i`d like the answer to as well. Early rhd westys from sa were based on the sunroof deluxe shells so were factory cut and strenghtened. Devon, to my knowledge, just took a full roof kombi and cut a hole( please tell me otherwise folks)No strengtheners or nowt.So i`d say yes you could fit a westy roof to a devon but factor in the custom conversion aspect( ie money) to do this

devon did cut a hole in a kombi roof but they did weld in some basic strengtheners in the form of plates around the edging, they also added full belly pans for the same reason. if you want measurements mine is bare at the moment, im going round tonight to take some pics of the caliper brackets for nafe i can take some pics.

I have the interior ( well most of it) from a 79 devon Moonraker in my 70 bay. Still got the Dormobile roof and Bunks though. Seems to work pretty well.
