.....as it happens, I've had a real good run at it this summer and dare I say it, all being well I should be able to get it MOT'd within the next couple of weeks hopefully!

Even though technically it's exempt of MOT's now  ..... It's something that I've been working towards for so long that I'm gonna get one anyway!!! It better bloody pass!

Final jobs after that are to replace the pop top bellows and get the rear kitted out.... but the plan now is to farm that out once it's officially road going.... Otherwise it'll be another 10yrs

I'm with you mate. The rules are if you've changed any suspension, engine, brakes, body bits etc. You still need an mot.

I think I've ticked all those boxes. So first stop the mot centre for my bus. Piece of mind really

Brilliant :) - I remember seeing your bus when collecting some D90 rims about 4 years ago! Nothing like determination and a plan - top work on the garage!

I may also be in this count after discovering a snapped headstud and requiring full rebuild following shipping mine out to Aus and not even getting it on the road.

But.....what a day to drop onto the ole Earlybay forum and see this thread sprung back into life. Like us all, it looks like life has been keeping you busy and away from the Vdub.

Great to see that you are now back on it and also started to cut down on all those wheels ;)

Great to see some of the old names still on here too:
Camperdan, Buss69, lard, gnninam to name a few

Also saw the FB post and wanted to while away a few minutes..Don’t beat yourself up, you’ve had numerous life stuff going on!.I’m also a slower! had mine since 2008; it’s been on the road for 4 years at the beginning but not since 2014, when we moved and decided to do a full house refurb and extension, but me doing the majority of the work whilst being full time employed, has meant the bus that is under cover can just sit. It’s not devaluing much if at all. I need to clear the junk out, and work out a plan. Thanks for a nudge it will help....

Searching for inspiration to get back into my bus. the mojo for it has all but completely disappeared. i seem to easily get inspired by new projects, but the bus just seems too big a project to get back on with.

Hey Andy... Good to hear from you.

I feel you bud... I went through many waves of enthusiasm over the years rebuilding my bus, but always managed to come back to it.
Finally finished mine early this year, (well I say finished, there are always things to tinker with 😉) but finally getting out in it with the family this summer has been awesome.
My only regret is not having finished it sooner so I could have made many more memories already. Don't want you to feel the same.

You have to get it finished bud... even if it's just so the rest of us can all drool over it at a future show... as it's gonna be one amazing bus once done 👍🏻

Maybe try and get yourself along to a few shows... Perhaps that might reignite a spark or two.

Good luck dude... Get at it 🤙

Agreed, yours had been an amazing story so far and there are plenty of us here who have been here long enough to be invested in the project along with you. The motivation has to come from the opportunity from creating memories, the end goal may seem like many man hours away, but the Danburyfalia you have created gets the nod of approval in this community but the whole picture comes from seeing the van out on the road being used and enjoyed.

This and Andy's Dormobile restoration were the two threads I come back to like my favourite box sets I don't want to end.
