my side lights come on when i press my brakes

hi there im still quite new to the vw camper seen and still geting to no my van and im trying to sort all its little problems
i have only just noticed this problem today when i was in traffic when i saw my side lights keep reflecting off the car in front when i was pressing my brake :shock: , i have also noticed tonite that when i turn my lights on my brake lights stay on constantly
if any help that would be great as its worrying me now :?

Someone has switched some wires over accidentally by the sound of it. Hard to offer real advice other than trace the wires back using a wiring diagram as reference .... or take to an uto electrician - not having brake lights on an old bus isnt good
