My T2a pickup project!

Hi Guys!

Just want to show you guys my "Little" project

First some basic information :
The cars is originally Danish, and from 20. Feb. 1969
Is has never beed outside Denmark, and has driven for a moving company as an advertising car

In Denmark the goverment thinks its a great idea to put salt on the roads when its frosty outside, and salt+metal=rust

I bought the car for 3months ago, and its stored on a farm around 110km from where i live, so i cant "just" go to see the car everyday
But this is my little baby, and i work on it as much as i can

The Pictures is from i bought it until now, but in the future im gonna put some text to the pictures

So please welcome it

Welcome, that's what I call a proper restoration!! And we thought it was only RHDs that needed this much work. Can't help think of Italy when looking at the pics - must be the paint scheme! Keep up the good work and keep us updated with progress

No LHD can be rusty too

As you guys can see, the M-plate tells me that the car is two tone paint.. but how does it look ? any T2a with these colors in here ? i dont know where to split colors.. roof, or the bubble under window :S

Very nice project. You're a brave man tackling it but you look like you've got it sorted.

It must be the only SC I've seen which was delivered in two tone. Must have been a special order. Very very rare. Are you going to go OG colours again?

A lot of small things on the car i dont know if i should keep or remake

the sides i think should be saved, and i want to make something like these :

i think that would be pretty cool.. a nice light paintjob on the car, and some really cool glossy tree as sides

I think you definitely should. Dark over light sounds strange for the first three seconds then I saw it in my head and I think it would look great!!

Yes im going for OG colors i think that would be great, and then the OG M-plate would have the right informations in the future

But the interior im going to make custom Alcantara leather in OG color on seats, glossy Black dash, some kind of special made carpet and such small custom things still OG look, but upgraded a bit

Nice car! Will look great in original color with that fantastic canopy! I would have kept the dash in OG color as it is close to be a one year only thing.

Didn't know that you had the small side indicators in Denmark. Think we got them a year later in Norway?

If the car is "born" in denmark, we have the indicators, theyre apperently pretty rare

I dont know if i like the mirrors :/ They look like its a Little truck, that cool, but they are so freaking big

But as more people see the project, as more i know its a pretty rare car ive got here

If i do a good resto job, what would the price be ? i see a lot of people do a lot of work with selfmade parts ect, but i dont.. i buy the parts, so the Whole car will be as original as possible.. prette expensive, but in my head, thats gotta give the best car at the end

Could be nice to know a ca Price i know its hard, but i we just take the Price from its rarity and soon pretty good condition that could be fun to know

Now im gonna leave you guys, to do some more work on my baby

The indicators are a bit rare. We have them in Norway as well but think we got them on the cars from 1970 and on. There is a store in germany still selling them, but they are a bit expencive. Payed £ 50,- for two!

If you guys have som good links for stuff, parts ect, inside Europe, that would be cool UK shop are great i know JustKampers, Hofmann speedster, coolairvw but if you have som good new

cool project, i love it! the canvas is ace, it makes me wanna get one for my dc,
I would say it would only be the roof that would be the other colour, i think im right in saying that they started painting by the bulge during crossover (1971/72? ) anyone confirm? i cant remember ever seeing a t2a painted at the bulge from factory, although im sure people have done it during a respray ...

Gorr2000 : I dont know the different colors/years But my M-plate is original, and as you can see on last Picture its a two-tone, and that freaks me out a bit, that i cant find a Picture of a car, with those exact colors and where colors split but i think, like you, its the roof, so im going for that

But did no one have a price idea ?

Nice truck, gonna start mine soon though I have lots of nos panels to make it easy where are you in the world, Denmark? I may have a spare locker door that better than yours looks.

davidoft: That would be REALLY nice!!! i cant find that damn door anywhere, unless im gonna pay £4-600!!! its an insane little piece but as far as i know, the lockerdoor from split, fits the earlybay ?

But please, put some pics up, and gimme a really good price and yes im in DK

Splitscreen. Has 3 vents, bay has 2, early and late bay are the same but 78-> bay has a different hinge, let me see what I have, are you in much of a rush?
