New fuel tank outlet is leaking ?

I've just fitted a new fuel tank outlet kit from VW heritage . I used the little red paper style washer and tightened the fixing nut up on the bottom of the tank so it felt tight .poured some fuel in the tank only to find the bloody thing is leaking at the threaded area ..Anyone experienced this and know a fix as I'm pissed off at present .

Those things need doing up really damn tight. I don't think that's intentional, but I know the spigot on mine was wobbly until I cracked out the 12" spanner and started swearing!
