Just out of interest, What other interests does everyone have? I'll bet some of you are talented artists or musicians or have some other classic in their garage. These are two of my other diversions at the moment.

My 3 litre essex powered 1957 ford 103e. Loud, fast, thirsty and damn scary in the wet

and this is how I relax and unwind

Thats a good looking hot rod youve got there Dooster 8)
Ive got a set of wolfrace slot mags to fit on the van at some point.

I live on a farm so a lot of my time seems to be spent doing the following:

Pest control (very tasty too), does anyone else on here shoot?

The River Usk runs through the farm, so a relaxing way to spend an evening after work (and very tasty again)

I also keep some poultry, here are my latest additions which will hopefully hatch in 7 days time! (free-range eggs & the occasional roast)

The rest of the time is spent with my family and my buddy Scoob:

Wow, cool place to live. 8) I know what life's like on a Welsh farm as I used to spend a lot of time at a friends place in Hebron near St Clears. Not exctly a farm, more of a large small holding but up stupid early, bed late and bloody hard work. Could never bring myself to kill anything though all the while I was there. I'm just a townie who thinks bunnies are cute   (but I guess that's because the buggers aren't chomping their way through my livelihood)

On a side note..........That looks like a fantastic EarlyBay type rally field in the background  :)

Wasnt sure about putting my pics up as I know townies think that the country is full of lovely fluffy bunnies eating carrots that they grow themselves   , but since living here for the last 3 years (I too was originally a townie - born in Hammersmith) my take on it is if I eat meat then I should at least be capable of killing & preparing it myself & I also know that its had a good/natural life. My first chickens were "rescued" from a battery hen farm, horrible places, their lifestyle now is totally different - space, grass, dust to bath in, free to come and go as they please.
Unfortunately the farm isnt mine we just rent a house off the farmer, but he lets us do pretty much anything we want & I help out with some of the farm chores.
The field in the background is used by the pony club every year(serious money spent on horse lorries), I know the farmer tolerates my vw "madness" but not sure if he would really appreciate a field full
I will ask him though!
Have you ever taken that Ford of yours drag racing? I always wanted to race one when I was younger, used to read Street Machine & Custom Car.

i used to enjoy motocross but gave it up a couple of years ago as it was just getting to expensive... my real love is the canals and hopefully moving onto a narrowboat early next year when the house has sold... cant wait to get out of this rat race....

Yup I sort of follow you on your philosophy on eating meat. (I work in a meat processing plant but could never visit our slaughter house up the road. I'm far too squeamish   )

The pop has never been on the strip as it has no seat belts at all. Was going to do a few modifications including harnesses and a 5 speed box but as I'm only keeping it till the end of the summer I didn't think it was worth ripping it to bits. By the time I've done everything I wanted the summer would be over and time to sell it again.

Loxy nice outlook on eating meat, myself I am a veggie (well I eat fish but then I have no probs catching and killing them) I do have probs with the intensive farming methods used and refuse to kill the fluffy bunnies and lambs in the surrounding fields.

Anyway I digress.

Hobbies/interests. A member of CAMRA like my real ale and the festivals, wine, hopping to move into the industry a few years from now when I've had enough of the comms industry its full of incompetant imbesciles at the moment and I cant see it improving in the near future. To be perfectly honest all alcohol from the humble lager to a fine champagne cognac, (not that i have a problem he says sliding a large glass of white out of view), Falconry, my familly are getting into it my son loives the owls at the local rescue centre and has adopted a snowy owl "Clementine".

Loxy great outlook on life my friend!

Myself hobbies wise, my job! Yep I love cooking and want to be one of the best out there in 5 years time in my own style without being a ******* celebrity. I also want to make it in British food with a twist without following all these prissy arae fuckers at the moment who are out there. I love looking into what products I use and where they come from! Spend time travelling around suppliers seeing how food is produced and developed and kept. etc etc!!!

Anything to do with me developing my culinary ability and using the best produce our country has to offer. Of course, some bits of our meat have to come from France also.

Would love to become a small holder in a few years when I get my own restaurant and develop my own produce.

And music, I love music

Oh yeah, and cider

I'm with you guys on the ethical meat thing - I only eat meat that I can trace back to source. I love fish too, and don't have a problem hitting the little buggers on the head when the time comes - I think we all need to be responsible about our food!

Other interests:
Lego - I've been a collector since I was a kid and I've actually got a 'Lego Room' at home!
Family - grown up step-daughter and two grandsons (and I'm only 34!) and two lovely black labradors!
eBay - I know it's got its detractors but it provides a second income for us so I can't be too mean about it (we're PowerSellers dunchaknow!)

P.S. Bought a fruit press and made my own cider last autumn - powerful stuff!!!!

;)

Like I said gninnam, it's powerful stuff! If it's not kept at just above absolute zero the bottles are liable to explode (my brother-in-laws fridge door was blown off!) - moving it is a bit like those scenes in old cowboy movies where the lead character has to move a bottle of nitroglycerine!!!

;)

When we meet at one of those VW thingy's hopefully you will have some to
try - unless you are using as an adative in the engine (who needs Nitro  )
