A very rare opportunity to own a totally original stock 1972 Volkswagen early Type 2 Devon RHD bay window camper, with only four previous very careful owners.
This van has been undersealed from new, and therefore never required structural welding.
It has 12 months MOT and being 1972 it is, of course, tax exempt.
There is also a partial service and pictorial history and the VW and Devon conversion Owners Manuals.
It has its original interior, including original furniture, bunk beds, curtains, upholstery and the original Devon/VW crockery.
It comes complete with the original matching Pullman Motor Chalet drive away awning.
The bodywork, chassis, running gear and engine are all in excellent condition and we have always kept it garaged. It starts first time and will cruise at a steady 60mph - everything works as it should, even the heater! A previous owner carried out a minor restoration and a full engine refurbishment (pictures available), to return it to factory condition after which it won a number of concourse events for its originality and condition.
We have cherished this van for 13 years during which time it has reliably taken us all over the UK, as far afield as Cornwall, Anglesey, Western Scotland, Northumberland and Norfolk on many happy camping holidays. We have also made several trouble free trips to France, visiting Normandy, Brittany, Paris, the Loire Valley and Le Mans and it has never let us down. We have taken it to many VW events including Vanfest and Stanford Hall where it has always been much admired for its originality and where we have been encouraged to enter it into several Show and Shine competitions. It has even been used as a bridal wedding car.
