Had a nice couple of days away in the van at Glampfest N Yorks. On the way home the engine started getting up to 120 C so had to take it slow until we got home.
Checked today and found the alternator pulley nut had worked loose so the fan belt wasn't turning the alt or the main fan. Lucky it didn't come off completely.

Check your alternator pulley wheel is tight on the spindle and the bearings are not worn. The same thing has happened to me a couple of times over the years. The first time it was the worn bearings on the old generator shaking the nut loose, and the second time the pulley wheel had fractured.
