Just fitted a heritage pancake filter. My question is do I run a hose from the oil breather into the base of it? There is an inlet or protrusion for a pipe on the filter. I keep thinking I would be sending specks of dirty oil into the carb? Could I just take a tube from the breather and out of the bottom of the tin ware? Thank you

Rightly or wrongly, that's what I've done on mine.

I fitted new twin carbs to my bus so I needed to find somewhere new to put my breather pipe.
I've routed the pipe down through the air intake hole in the tinware (that used to go to the oil bath filter) and secured it underneath. If I remember rightly, some Beetles used to have a metal breather pipe,
with a one way rubber end, that routed in a similar fashion.
