i've never bought from them, but i hate to see you alone

all i can say is that there is some, pardon the expression, absolute **** out there in the world of replacement air-cooled parts, even service parts, so make sure, for instance the bearing set you buy, is a *name* brand.

good luck 8)

I tried to get some front wheel bearings at GSF a while back but when the bloke returned from the back with japanese bearings I changed my mind. Having said that I did get a decent quality rebuild kit for my master cylinder from them (had to mail order though) couldnt find anywhere else that did rebuild kits at the time.

(Got wheel bearings from schofields in the end, expensive but top quality Febi Bilstein German ones

I've ordered some parts from them, nothing expensive though, next day delivery and free postage. I ordered off there website as when i phoned up my local shop i think the bloke was talking a different language!

thanks for that ,been looking for afew weeks now so many do
them cant decide where to get from heads spinning

If they were Chinese parts, then yes, don't touch. Japanese, got to be top quality, ever heard of Honda? :D

I bought my my caliper rebuild kit from them, 72 ones they deliverd the right ones and they fitted all ok and still work.
My mate fitted them whos a mechanic and was quite impressed with the quality of them.

Rumour has it that certain well known VW suppliers get their parts from GSF, put a nice mark up on them and sell them on. They often do 2 grades always go for the better one usually German.

They have been in the parts buisness for a long time now, i worked for Partco Autoparts back in the 80's and they were around then, specialising in German and Swedish bits then, so they must know their stuff.

panels are pants, but service parts are mostley ok,if you go into the branch, the staff will usually tell you what to avoid.

I use our local branch for service stuff and the like. Most electrical parts come in two qualities - Hella/Bosch and cheaper pattern, so pay the extra for safety.
I wouldnt use them for panels, seals, major parts etc though ....
