Passenger door barrel

Hi, My bus is minus a passenger door barrel lock, does anyone have one and more importantly can i make it fit the key I have for the other locks so some leafs would be good so i can fanny about with it and make it fit

Hi, i assume it must be the R code, been a 71? The key i have is a ilco key made in the USA on it is stamped VW 71 A and also Stamped V 81 V if that means anything?

Hi George, Sent the papers off to get it registered at the weekend so getting nearer as long as it all checks out so as soon as the little darling is road legal I shall give you a call and pop over for a nosey. Then it's all go to getting pissed up at various events

Hi, I am still on the lookout a barrel locks (R-code) don't know if that makes a difference for my van - anyone?

Can anyone also enlighten me on lock operation. When screwing the L shaped bar on the back of the barrel, when you screw it up tight you can't turn the lock, so have to have it loose, but then its all loose and sloppy and could come undone.. Any info would be helpful! Andrew.

subheatadey: I can have a look through some barrels tomorrow and see what I have.

Andrew: It should be tight. There may be another issue, for example- needs grease, key worn, 1 tumbler catching?? Hard to say for sure without seeing it.
