ive got a 1641cc with twin carbs with electronic ignition
i had a running problem where it seemed to lose power then it would come back and prob back fire every so often, i pulled the engine out and checked all this lot,
i changed all the fuel lines and check the fuel pump and changed the fuel filter then changed all the spark plug and changed the distributor with a new rotor arm and dizzy cap and had the ht leads checked it strated then and ran it but seemed to still have the same problem loss of power so checked the valve clearences and then it wouldnt start after that so i tested to see if there was a spark and there wasnt so ordered a new coil and fitted that today and tried to start it and it wouldnt start but checked there was a spark and there deffinalty was as i got a good shock :(
is there anything else it could be and when it turns over it sounds like its struggling to turn over like somethings not got the power and it wount turn cos ive over tighted the clutch or somthing
really starting to get pi****d off now and i want it done asap as ve got 2 weddings to use it for
please helpppppp :?

i havent got a condensor on my distributor cos ive got electronic ignion any thing else any 1 can think???? :?: :?: :?:

Does sound like over advanced timing does it still sound like its struggling with no spark ie take the coil lead off and turn it over

I went back to original bosch ignition leads, and that solved a lot of problems :D

I've got my mate comin Sunday to check the timing again
And I'll remove the coil lead tonite and turn it over too see if its still struggling
