hi guys i bought a empi single quiet pack system a few weeks back, tryed fitting it to my crossover bay and the thing wouldnt fit!
I couldnt get the exhaust to bolt on due to the exhaust mani hitting the engine mount. anyone had this problem?
Its frustrating because ive just fitted a new engine and this is all im waiting for before i start her up!
i have now sent the exhaust back, maybe it was a one off manufactured problem.
so i now have to look for a new exhaust system, i got a budget of around 100, whats best do you think?

thats cos the empi exhausts are chinese ****.

Agreed, can't wait to put mine in the bin.. Just out of interest what's the better alternative most use?

Here's my thread mate, might help but the bottom line is they really aren't good. I even contacted just kampers who informed me, 'that's just how they are'

Well.... that is just how they are. That's how many non-stock exhausts are - they hit the right hand flange near the centre of the support bar usually so grind it flat, you won't miss it. If it's hitting the actual bar further to the right nothing can be done.
Have you thought of getting a stock exhaust?

If its a Heritage Empi single quiet pack did you order the 1 for a bay with engine bar?
IIRC there are 2 types, 1 with engine bar and 1 without

Tis true - but when you get the right one make sure you fit it within the 'rust-before' date, usually around 10 months after purchase.

I got a full stainless system from Bluebird Customs about 10 years ago and it's still going strong. It's taken a bit of a battering over the speed bumps but no rust. Can definitely recommend :D
