Hi all.....
Just a quick consensus please....

Tomorrow we (two girls and wife)set off on a 3000 mile summer holiday to and around France.
My 72 bay running a newer 1800 type 4 engine with twin 40idfs, ....(set up by me to the best as no time for rolling road)....
The van has been plagued by little problems which has meant that my final few days have been spent fixing issues that would stop us from going!
I now have the big question!
The carbs are lacking (spitting farting etc) at 2800revs roughly.
I have an untested progressive carb and manifold set up on the shelf.
Do I swap them out this evening?

Three years in my workshop and still feel I'm getting nowhere fast!

Is it only at 2800 revs that they play up but otherwise run fine?

If so I'd keep them on and not risk an untried carb if you can drive around the problem

Is there anyway you can drop in on a specialist who can do some tweaking en route? Might save some grief and make your hols a lot more worry-free.

Yes, but it won't clear. I think it's that the main jet is to small and so it's just not taking over from the idles?
Might just swap them !
