OK so i have just completely stripped the engine out of the van and split the case due to a previously shocking build (heads loose, case nuts loose etc etc) anyway this is the dilemma i face.
I have 2 cases both AS41, 1's a dual relief mexica case (strongy's old engine) and i have the single port (also dual relief) 'B' coded case off my single port (the 1 i have just stripped down).
I also have a set of both single port and twin port heads, both stripped down and cleaned (the TP went in the dishwasher  )
I have both a single port and twin port manifold and also I have a full set of single tinwear (removed from my engine) but only have a Twinport fan shroud (also have the fan).

Both engine cases are usable and both set of heads are in good condition, ideally i was planning on using the mexico case and TP heads for a new build but due to the engine issues i'm having things have changed a little (also need it back on the road for Dubz @ the castle as going on holiday straight from there :? )so as time is now an issue what do i do?

What single port tinwear can be used on a twin port as i would prefer to build a twinport but dont have the time to find a complete TP tinwear kit.

Any help / ideas?

I know you are in a rush, but the motto do it right and do it once springs to mind, If you want the twinport then do that, I think I have a couple of bits of tinware knocking about you can have, Doghouse cooler and couple of the other smaller pieces. I reckon someone like Megabug could get you a full set of tinware pretty quick, Thats who i got mine from when doing my engine

Pete, i agree but time is an issue here, i have the dog house fan shroud it mainly the hard to get bell housing (over the gearbox) section thats the issue, although will try megabug.
I have nearly all the parts for twinport except a carb as like an ***** i sold my 2 i had as i was going twin carbs but as time is against me i also need to find a 34 pict 3 carb.

For the bellhousing you could get an extension piece if that makes it easier?

Front piece solution?!?

Failing that, twinport fanshroud is to use the doghouse oil cooler, use early upright style cooler and you can keep the early shroud and still run twinport heads (and upgrade at your leisure later, the later doghouse is a much better design and plenty of folk fit it to singleport motors to improve the cooling).
Then all you need worry about is a set of twinport head tins which should be easy enough to find....

That said, whichever shroud you use, make sure you use the right (matching) fan and your head choice means you need to check which head studs if are reusing them. Also, on the engine cases, does either have the thread hole for the engine mounting bolt? You need it for a dog house or you will need to fit a captive one:

EDIT:
Had a cig and thought about it for a bit.
Hand on heart, maybe I'm jaundiced but if it was me I'd build it up as a singleport? :msn4:
Why? Because you know you've got all the bits and you're on a timeline and 3hp isn't worth a bus in bits and a missed holiday....
Then, if you decide you want more power, get all the tp bits (refurb the heads, complete set of twinport tinware, dual carbs and maybe some ratio rockers) and upgrade it over winter. That way its just a simple top end rebuild and trust me, it won't seem so daunting once you've done it once 8)

At the moment the engine is on the floor and completely stripped, case split and i'm waiting on a delivery of new bearings so the bottom end will be as good as new, suppose i could always rebuild using the single port case and heads and then build the twin port case and heads over the winter.

SP then the TP over time when the bits come into your possession before you know it you have a good spare in the shed.....

TP, I could probably lay my hands on a 34pict, I don't need it right now. I can loan it to you to get you running and holidaying....

let me go and check the shed and see what I have....

At the moment i'm thinking build up the SP but put the TP heads on it and then i can get the TP case machined to 1776 as per my original plan.

IF you could as like an ***** i sold both my 34 pict 3 as i was planning to go twin carbs before my single port jacked in. This way i can run TP with an SVDA on electronics
