Straightforward enough to be honest, make sure you use the good stuff. If using a filter don't fit it in the engine bay , fit it as it leaves the tank.... mine is by the clutch housing accessed quite easily behind the rear wheel. Always check for where it can/will rub and fit appropriate rubber bungs or kunifer pipe. :D

As above basically. My thoughts would be use kunifer pipe for the majority, with short sections of bio-fuel hose at the connections or where some a flexibility is required.

Second thing would be use decent hose clips on every connection, or decent jubilee clips(can't say I've ever had a problem with them, but a lot of people swear by the proper hose clips).

Maybe fit a fuel cut of solenoid while your at it? For peace of mind. It would cut the fuel flow from the tank in the event of a fire.

Make sure you use ethanol tolerant rubber hose, "this is very important as the new fuels melt the normal pipe" there is plenty available on flebay

Agree with all above. I bought the complete kit from Aircooled works, 100% ethanol resistant pipe, clips and filter. I also fitted a manual fuel shut off switch (99p from ebay I think), re positioned the filter above gearbox and fitted an extinguisher above engine bay.... a must! (All really easy to do) be prepared tho with the one directly from the tank, empty the tank as low as possible as when you pull that one off you need to be quick with putting the new one on! Lol (Hence the fuel cut off switch for future use) hope this helps

Where is best to buy the ethanol resistant fuel pipe???
Is there a specific number or code written on the pipe to look out for???

Got mine from Aircooled works...... didn't rekon much to the clips though to be honest :msn4:

This is the spec i used SAE J30 R6
Application:
Specially designed low-pressure hose for gas and gas/ethanol blends in carbureted vehicle applications.

got it off ebay

£3.20 per mtr

I bought 5mm I/D.

R6 rated hose is not suitable for ethanol, many tests and most peoples past experiences show this.

On the subject - what about fuel cutoff solenoids? Has anyone experience of using them?

I was thinking it could be fairly easy to jump one off the coil +ve so that it was only open when the ignition was on, and shut off when the ignition was off.

Does such a thing exist and/ or sounds sensible/ feasible?

I ran one with an LPG conversion, it had a switched live for when running on petrol. Worked well but it was off most of the time. Had one go bad on me and wouldn't open but there is a bypass lever if needed.
