Hi, my name is Kalle. I live in the middle part of Sweden outside a town called Falun.

At the end of last summer me and the misses bought a 1969 bus with a Westfalia poptop fitted and a 1600dp engine. The bus had been sitting since 1986 in a dry old garage, so there is next to zero rust on it. Its been respayed from the roof down in a darker shade of blue. Some day it hopefully will be seen in its original color neptune blue again. According to the former owner the top was fitted at Westfalias factory in the 70´s, even though its not a Westfalia bus from the beginning.

When we got the bus it had a dark red interior that was built by the former owner. We didnt really like the look or layout of it, and not being an original interior I decided to build a new one. I also gave the bus a technical overhauling with new breakeparts all out, new gaskets in the engine, a lowering job and a new set of wheels.

Got it MOTd in may, and have been driving it frequently since then. Just got home from a 1600km vacation with it. We have now also bought a 1978 Combi Camper to give us more room while camping.

There is still alot of stuff we are gonna do to the bus, paint, more interior work and other things. Its a so called rolling project.

Some pics, well allot of pics :) Please let me know what you think :)

When we bought it

it's tricky to see in the pics is it mdf or a material with a veneer?...I'm thinking of making a westy interior for mine as I can't face cutting big holes in the 68 interior.....

Im not shure on what you are asking. But in the pic you are refering to I used fake tan leather and glued it to thin veneer. All the furniture are built in MDF. 22mm for the basbox, sofa, and 8mm for the rest.

I hope I answard your question, if not ask again :)

Realized I didnt post any pictures of the interior with the cushions sowned up. So I went out with the camera and took a few moore pics.

Ahh, the vent. Its the air intake for the Ebersprecher that is mounted in the engine bay. I havent tested it yet, but Im gonna try it this winter.

Thanks for all the positive feedback! Im glad you all like it :)

cool makes sense - I like the idea of the speakers mounted under the dash...how's it done? got any closer pics of that ?

Ill try to get some better pictures taken of the speakers soon.

Think it´s time to update the tread a bit.

Been sorting out the interior a bit since the last time I posted. I allso got at hold od deluxetrim for the bumpers and waist. Bumber trim went on during the summer and the waste trim is going on after my latest project. Bringing back the OG Neptunblue colour :)

I´ll be posting images of the finished result when all the DAF blue paint is gone. As you can see I´m gonna have to do a bit of tuch up when I´m done removing the paint do to old grinding crimes...

But untill then, some images...
