Hi folks, I have a pair of leftover OEM heat excahngers which have rusted trhough at the ends Previous owner had some of those insert tube things but they didn't seem to work). Is there any value in them/ any use to anyone, or are they just scrap metal?

No use to me, I got myself some repro ones...

Cheers, Rich

I bought a pair of those adaptors/repair sections, but the design is flawed, it slides inside the original hole thus closing the hole inner diameter, I managed to find a length of pipe that was the same size as the original pipe and had that welded on. my only worry is that if the end is badly rusted so could the inner section that you cant see. hence I am now looking for a pair of replacement heat exchangers.

I don't want exhaust gasses being blown into my cabin.

Nope, nor do I - I suspect they are scrap, but thought I'd put it out there in case they are of any use to anyone, or if anyone knows of any other fixing thechnique.

Free to a good home, anyway, pickup from Derby.

I made a temporary repair with a bit of standard copper 20mm pipe. It was a perfect fit and stopped the car from smelling, some may call it a bodge but it did the trick....
