OK, we all know or suspect that certain companies are plainly ripping us off, with extortionate mark-ups on goods. Here is the evidence: Renovating the brakes on the bus and one of the callipers has seized completely, so... 1. Cool Air: Refurbished calliper: £207.60 http://www.coolairvw.co.uk/Item/Shop_by" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... n-CB-.html 2. C & C £185.95 (they say they will price match) http://www.customandcommercial.com/vw-b" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... sh72_1178/ I bought the exact ones for: £78, the surcharge was £10, which is refundable on sending in your old callipers. I got them from here http://www.kimbercarparts.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Incidentally, I contacted a very well known VW specialist and asked for a quote to fit an engine, he said £500, without any hesitation. A local garage then quoted me £200 and explained the time and charges involved. He told me this is a very straight forward job. So the moral is shop around, do a Google search for what you need. Why pay an additional £100 unnecessarily? LV
