I have hit another couple of hurdles with my 1641 build so have temporarily bought at 1584 to get the 71 back out on the road.
However, the 1584 comes equipped with a dynamo rather than an alternator and I don't want to have to strip the carb etc off to swap them over, I'd rather just run the Dynamo as it should only be for a few weeks tops.
Can anyone talk me through what I need to do and any changes I need to make to temp run the Dynamo?

hi, you have probably done this by now but, do you have the regulator to go with the dynamo, they are usually seperate items and not interchangeable with alternator regs, and expensive too. you would also have to change your wiring to suit and its probably not worth it for a few weeks. i would go with the alternator if you already have the cabling in for it, it's not that much work to swap the two over.
cheers, dave

That's what I'm doing Dude. I've swapped the alternator over, but have been on holiday so it's been on pause.
