Side vents

Hi friends
I've been spending a lot of time and money on the van. I finally got it back on the road on Sunday and was pretty happy with it. I'm really impressed that I've got heat now after completely renewing the whole system. It got so hot, I had to keep the window open. I've got loads of heat from windscreen vents, kick panel vents and the walk through. But I dont get anything at all from the round dash vents. Everything is connected up but the plastic pipes aren't getting warm either. Does anyone have tips on getting them operational? It would be nice to have a full set.

They're fresh air vents only, and connected to the fresh air flaps behind the front grille.
That's what the blue dash levers work.
