Hi

Are these 4 holes for the front badge or for the wheel holder

If not for the badge will it not fit flush as top right has been replaced and sticks out

are they threaded?, i just took my wheel mount off and have the same raised washers.

...i was wondering if i need to modify the size of hole for the smaller badge catches on the chrome badge?

Yes they are threaded, i presume you put in the plastic plug type things in first and attach the badge to them ???

These are for the spare wheel carrier.
Was going to show you a photo of mine but dont have any, will try and get the camera out later

spare wheel carrier screw in as said if they are threaded, they might require a bit of work to fit the badge if thats the case. Let me know how you got on as i have to tackle it myself.

you can just make out the raised lip on the four threaded captive nuts , i had a standard tyre bracket on the front.

they look like the badge clips to me,when my wheel hollder was taken off it was just bolts, then put the badge clips in and they sat the same as yours looks now

Definitely spare tire holders, we take them off all the time. THey popped those threadserts in, and drilled the spare tire carrier to match. Ugly!

used status vw clips,in side a softer one,got them at van fest bristol
i dont think any bodys going to pull it of, nice tight fit,i think igot some of the soft ones
left if you need them let me no. cheers rich

looks like the front wheel caused some damage after a shunt.

do you have a pic of the palstic clips? i was hoping i could fix the badge more permanently from the inside, possibly by threading the nipples on the back of it.

Eric, how do you remove the threaded bracket holders or do you just leave them where they are and fit the badge?

I've only got 2 threaded holders on mine, the bottom 2 that hold the bracket are nut and bolt. Very tempted to grind the heads off the riv-nuts and either weld or fill the holes, might even go with a flat front end :p

I've Just ordered the badge and clips i'll offer it up and see when they arrive
Cheers
Gary

Looks like i will need to grind the washers off, when you offer everything to the front the badge would be a mile off the front, you get plastic clips that come with the badge and then you also can buy some plastic inserts for the holes in the panel that the badge clips go into.
