Hello all,

I am trying to remove the exterior sliding door handle as the integrated lock is turning but not activating. (It locks fine from the inside)

So far I have removed the interior handle and four mounting bolts holding the mechanism but I cant see how to either get the mechanism off the inside and/or separate it from the exterior handle.

I am clearly missing something straightforward, is it brute force to separate the parts or is there something else to remove...

Thanks in advance

Jim

The only thing holding the outside handle is the screw that holds the inside handle.
Remove the inside handle cap, undo the screw ,the inside handle will come off and u should be able
to slid the outside handle out
Might need a bit of wd40 if it doesnt shift

Thanks for the reply Chris, it gave me confidence to apply a bit more force. It still won't shift. I will give the WD40 a few more hours and try again.

I had this problem and I nearly ruined my door trying to take the handle out.

From memory there are some pins that come out the side of the handle shaft that weren't going in correctly. It's a few years ago now but I remember how frustrated I got.

Keep trying the WD40 and try rotating the handle to move the pins in.
